What’s New?

Recession. There, I’ve said it. It’s a word that politicians are loath to admit, that economists describe as ‘technical’, that some say that we have brought upon ourselves by listing to the ‘prophets of doom’ in the media. Blame the oil companies, the speculators in the Futures markets, the sub-prime mortgage crash in the States– whatever the cause the reality is that when you work in the design industry it doesn’t take very long before you find yourself at the sharp end of any economic downturn.

Why is this? Realistically it’s a simple case of human nature at work. Faced with costs rising faster than income, the first thing that people consider is discretionary spending. What are they spending money on now that might be seen as non-essential? Often advertising and promotion are two areas where businesses can immediately cut back expenses. While prudent, is this really a good thing?

It's true that at times like these, businesses are financially stretched. But strangely enough a recession is also said to be a good time to build a business. At these times people are more open to new options and ideas. The truth is that survival is not simply a matter of working harder, it's essential to work smarter, to be open to new opportunities.

And part of working smarter is maintaining the visibility of your business. Now more than ever, it’s important to present any businesses in a polished and professional manner.

This is where we can help. Our services are thoroughly professional, we know the industry inside out – and our prices are surprisingly affordable.
